With #2560 merged this enhancement is complete for 1.22 enhancements freeze.

/sig architecture
I'd ask if SIG Architecture, who are listed in your kep.yaml as a participating SIG, need to do anything for this in 1.22 and if they're signed on, but it looks like @dims was involved in the PR so I assume you're all aware.

Hello @thockin 👋, 1.22 Docs release lead here.
This enhancement is marked as ‘Needs Docs’ for 1.22 release.

Please follow the steps detailed in the documentation to open a PR against dev-1.22 branch in the k/website repo. This PR can be just a placeholder at this time and must be created before Fri July 9, 11:59 PM PDT.
Also, take a look at Documenting for a release to familiarize yourself with the docs requirement for the release.

Thank you!

Hey @apelisse, can you confirm if @nikhita's PR kubernetes/kubernetes#103022 is the correct (and only) k/k PR for this change in 1.22? (As a note we've got @apelisse down as the point of contact for this enhancement in the tracking spreadsheet, is that still correct?)

Yes, kubernetes/kubernetes#103022 will be the only k/k PR. We might split it into two PRs for easier review though.

To elaborate, the main changes are in kube-openapi (kubernetes/kube-openapi#238) and the k/k PR imports the (updated) kube-openapi repo.

@JamesLaverack update -- we would be moving this KEP to the next release.

kubernetes/kube-openapi#238 has lgtm but there are some last-minute discussions in #2752 and we will not be able to reach consensus before code freeze.
